History
W.I.R.E. Services was created following a successful program developed by Manitoba Hydro to collect accurate terrain and wire data for transmission line re-rating studies. Implementing airborne LiDAR data collection technology as a base for this analysis has allowed Manitoba Hydro to implement many cost-effective line upgrades on their transmission system. Based on this extensive utility experience, W.I.R.E. Services now makes this knowledge available to all electrical utilities throughout North America and Worldwide.
W.I.R.E. Services is a business venture initiated by Manitoba Hydro through an exclusive service relationship with LiDAR Services International (LSI) of Calgary, Alberta. Combining LSI's expert knowledge and extensive experience in collecting and processing LiDAR data with Manitoba Hydro's experience and expertise in LiDAR data engineering for Transmission line applications, has produced a "Full Service" Transmission Line Thermal Rating and Re-Rating Service provider.
