Digital Video
W.I.R.E. Services will provide oblique or forward-looking digital video. The forward video is created using an ATV Marlin F140C fully digital color camera capturing images at 30 frames per second. The camera is installed in the EXOCAM camera ball mounted to the nose of the helicopter, giving it a full, unobstructed forward view. The operator can control adjustments to the camera such as zoom and focus, on the fly. During collection, the digital video is synchronized to the GPS which allows the final video files to be location and time stamped.
Features of the Forward Digital Video are:
- Provides an unobstructed aerial view of right-of-way corridor
- Enables viewer to check corridor for obstructions crossing the surveyed line
- Delivered in standard AVI format with VCM compression on DVD
- Easily viewed on a standard PC
- Integrated Video Player in PLS-CADD, allowing the user to click on a location in the model and have the video open at that location.
